Client Background

The UP Transport Department is responsible for collecting transport revenues across 75 districts in Uttar Pradesh, a complex process that involves recording, consolidating, and analyzing large volumes of data. To improve the efficiency and accuracy of this process, the department partnered with e.Soft Technologies to develop a centralized web application.

CHALLENGES

Previously, data from each district was manually compiled into approximately 30 excel sheets, which then had to be combined by a dedicated team member. This approach was prone to errors and delays, making data analysis cumbersome and time-consuming.

SOLUTION

Tailored Integration: Our web application was designed to meet the specific needs of the UP Transport Department, enabling streamlined data collection and comprehensive reporting. Each district independently submits its revenue records through the platform, which consolidates data across all districts, automating the previously manual and time-intensive process.

Modules Developed

The UP Transport Web Application features modules that enhance data access, reporting, and administration:

  • Role-Based Access: The platform supports three levels of access—Admin, Region, and District levels. District-level users are restricted to entering and viewing their own district data, region-level users can monitor data from districts within their jurisdiction, and administrators have full access to view and generate reports at both district and region levels.
  • Dynamic Form Creation: To accommodate evolving data needs, administrators can create and assign new forms to regions or districts with deadlines. Upon form assignment, automated email notifications are sent to the relevant personnel, ensuring prompt data entry and collection.

By shifting from manual data consolidation to automated entries and report generation, the UP Transport Department has seen considerable improvements in efficiency. Admin users can now create customized forms for additional data collection, with flexible deadlines and automated notifications, ensuring responsiveness to changing operational needs.
